How You Can Help
How your fundraising helps the Heart of Kent Hospice
Almost 70% of our income comes from donations through membership, legacies, and of course - fundraisers like you!
Every donation – no matter how big or small – makes a real difference to the Hospice.
Here are just a few examples of what your fundraising efforts could pay for/fund:
- £6 pays for a T-shirt and paints for a child whose parent is in the Hospice to express their feelings in the form of a painting.
- £10 pays for a book such as “Granddad’s Ashes” by Walter Smith used by the Family Services team to help support children in dealing with their loss.
- £25 pays for an ear thermometer.
- £85 pays for one person to spend one day with Day Therapy.
- £100 pays for a staff nurse on the ward to care for up to 2 named patients and their families, as a named nurse liaising with other members of the team internally such as occupational therapy, medical staff, community specialist nurse or other health and social care professionals locally.
- £125 pays for a specialist Community Nurse to visit one patient in the community.
- £200 pays for a blood pressure monitor.
- £620 pays for one patient staying in the Inpatient Unit for one day.
